Clock Synchronization
Publications
The improvements in the quality of oscillators of every day computers change
the way we can build accurate but cheap clocks. It is now possible to
define a clock with today's PC architecture, accurate enough to be
used by a large variety of applications.

IP Traffic Characterization and Modeling
Publications
Backbone traffic has been an intensive topic of research for the past years.
While lot of studies have been published, describing traffic, its
scaling behavior and proposing models, two directions are still under
investigation. The study of wireless traffic and the comparison of its
characteristics to the well-known backbone traffic. The definition of
simple models, easily usable in practice, that take into account the
scaling properties of the observed traffic.

Autoconfiguration for Self-Organized Networks
Publications
With the widespread deployment of wireless technologies, self-
organized networks (Ad-Hoc, Sensor or Mesh networks) are supposed to
be today's reality. While the basic concepts underlying the network
layer of such networks have been defined more than 10 years ago, no
leading solution has emerged yet. Taroko is a proposed
solution to handle the addressing, locating and routing mechanisms
while decoupling identity and address of the nodes. Taroko
takes advantages of a hierarchical virtual structure of clusters to
define local and distributed network layer mechanisms. This virtual
structure is particular description of the underlying topology by
means of trellis graphs. The publications associated to this work
present a description of Taroko, an analysis of its performance and
its ability to handle slow nodes' mobility.
