The CUBINlab Administrative Team
Overview
The CUBINlab administrators are students and staff who contribute their expertise on a part time basis. The overall philosophy of the management of the network is that users are given the power to be as autonomous as they can be consistent with their skills. In this environment users expand their skills over time, and solve their own problems whenever possible through consulting help pages, the web, text books, other users, and the administrators, in that order. This leaves the administrators free to act as willing experts, and to plan enhancements to the network. Furthermore, administrators and users work to enhance the CUBINlab Users web site, to spread and record the in-house knowledge held in and generated by the laboratory over time.
The core administrators or `network gurus' are:
| Network supervisor | Darryl Veitch |
|---|---|
| Core System Administrators | Julien Ridoux |
| Backup Manager | Malik Ahmad Yar Khan |
| Web Design | Julien Ridoux |
They work together with the administrators for each satellite entity:
| Active Probing Testbed | Julien Ridoux, Darryl Veitch |
|---|---|
| Trace Server and Compute Cluster | Shane Culpepper |
| Distributed Simulation Cluster | Shane Culpepper and Julien Ridoux |
| Wireless LAN Testbed | Malik Ahmad Yar Khan |
| Software Repository | Lachlan Andrew |
Student members of the administration team are renumerated as casual members of departmental technical staff.
